Because low-carbon steel castings have good plasticity and are less prone to cracking during cooling. To reduce internal stress, cast steel parts should also undergo high-temperature tempering after normalizing. For cast steel parts with a carbon content of ≥ 0.35%, complex structure, and prone to cracking, only annealing treatment can be carried out. Steel castings should not be quenched, otherwise they are prone to cracking.
